From our friends at the Kingston Independents -
PETITION TO CALL IN COUNCIL DECISION TO PUBLISH DOCUMENT FOR MASS DEVELOPMENT THROUGHOUT THE BOROUGH
Dear fellow resident
At the meeting of the Strategic Planning and Housing Committee on Thursday 8 November, the Council agreed to release a document for consultation for mass development in the Borough for the new Local Plan:https://moderngov.kingston.gov.uk/ieListDocuments.aspx?CId=661&MId=8598&Ver=4
I believe that this document is misleading, lacking in information and wholly inadequate as a consultation document - even with minor amendments that may occur - and I wish to ask the Scrutiny Panel of the Council to review the decision to use it as the basis for a public consultation
The more people sign the petition, the stronger we will be in challenging the council's decision
You can see and sign the petition here:
You will also find on that link two Appendices. One contains a TIMELINE giving my evidence of why the Direction of Travel strategy for mass development in the Borough agreed by the Council in 2016 is unsound and should not be used as the basis for growth in the Borough and why I believe that no Opportunity Area for mass development exists; the other gives my OPINION of why the questions in the consultation document are flawed and lists the questions that the council plans to ask.
